Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Mgebrishvili, who is paying working visit to Estonia, met with his Estonian counterpart Andres Anvelt.
Sides discussed the existing close and fruitful cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries and reviewed ways of developing the cooperation even further.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili thanked Anders Anvelt for the strong support of the Republic of Estonia in the process of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
At the meeting the Ministers of Georgia and Estonia signed a joint statement on cooperation in the field of European aspirations. The document aims at: strengthening cooperation between relevant law enforcement agencies; sharing the best experience in terms the fight against organized crime implementing police reforms in accordance with EU policy standards; Exchange of information and experts to ensure compliance with EU standards and norms; Organizing meetings, joint seminars and conferences.
At the end of the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili invited the Minister of Interior of Estonia to Georgia.
