The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomeluari hosted the delegation of the National Police of the Republic of Poland headed by the Deputy General Inspector of the National Police, Major General Paweł Dobrodziej. The meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Georgia, Mariusz Maszkiewicz.
At the meeting, under the order of the Minister of Interior of Poland, Paweł Dobrodziej awarded the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri with a medal for the contribution to the successful cooperation between the National Police of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The Deputy General Inspector and the Ambassador introduced to the Minister of Internal Affairs the police liaison officer seconded for the first time in Georgia by the Police side, Rafał Węgiel.
Vakhtang Gomelauri underlined the historically tight relations between Georgia and the Republic of Poland, as well as the unwavering support of Poland towards Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, towards the process of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The Minister of Internal Affairs emphasized the existing high level of cooperation between the two agencies, which is efficiently realized through direct and active engagement from the Georgian police attache to Poland, Giorgi Gamsakhurdia. The Police side awarded him for several times for his accomplished activities.
During the meeting, parties discussed the ongoing issues of bilateral cooperation and future plans.
