On 16-18 November of this year the delegation of Belgian Federal Police visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The purpose of the visit was a holding of an official negotiations on the draft “Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Kingdom of Belgium on Law Enforcement Cooperation”.
The parties discussed the text of the agreement article-by-article and agreed its provisions. After completion of relevant internal procedures the agreement will be prepared for the signature. The agreement is important for the strengthening of law enforcement cooperation between Georgia and the Kingdom of Belgium, both: at operative and non-operative levels.
The representatives of International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the State Security Service of Georgia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the Ministry of Finance of Georgia participated in the negotiations from the Georgian side.
The parties signed the minutes of the meeting at the end of the negotiations.
