The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in June, 2016 amounted to 517 038 more by 4.1 % than the index of the same period in 2015.
As for the period from January to June, the country has 2 636 313 visits that is more by 12.9% than the index of the same period in 2015.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific share for January-June 2016 is the following:
a) Tourist – 1 011 458 visits (38,4% of general number; increase by 18,1 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 521 746 visits (19,8% of general number; decrease by -2,8 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other – 1 102 887 visits (41,8 % of general number, increase by 17 % in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in June, 2016 were paid again from Azerbaijan (+1,9 %), Armenia (-3,9%), Turkey (-7,2%), Russia (+4,4%) and Ukraine (+35,3 %). Also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in January-June period the following countries take the leading position: Latvia, Italy and France (relevantly 29%, 20% and 12%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (27%) and Uzbekistan (31%), among the countries of Easter Europe – Belarus (39%) and Moldova (22%), Middle East – Israel – (95%), UAE 23%). Also, increase (9%) of the number of arrivals of the citizens of the Unites States of America should be mentioned.
