The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
In February 2017 368 010 visitors arrived to Georgia which is more by 2,1% than the index of the same period in 2016. In February 2017, 139 918 tourists visited Georgia which is more by 16,4% than the index of the same period in 2016.
In January-February period the number of visitors amounted to 755 080, which is more by 10,5% than the index of the same period in 2016.
According to the new method of a conditional division the number of visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia in January 2017 is the following:
a) Tourist – 294 001 (38,9%, of general number; increase by 24,3% in comparison with the index of the same period in 2016);
b) Transit –128 243 visits (17% of general number, in comparison with the index of the last year the number increased by 19,9%);
c) Other – 332 836 visits (44,1% of general number, increase by -2,1% in comparison with the index of the last year).
The most of the visits in February 2017, were paid again from Armenia (+7,7%), Azerbaijan (-6,6%), Turkey (-21), Russia (+31,4%), Ukraine (+10,6%) and Iran (+321,4%); positive tendencies are also retained by the EU countries: respecting the number of arrivals to Georgia in February. The following countries took leading position: Germany Bulgaria, Poland, Great Britain, France and Lithuania,, (35%, 34%, 30%, 26%, 19% and 16%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (21%), Uzbekistan (211%) Turkmenistan (129%). From the countries of Eastern European countries– Belarus is leading with 17% and Moldova with 22%.
