The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in January, 2016 amounted to 323 159 more by 4,4 % than the index of the same period in 2015.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific weight is the following:
a) Tourist - 116 369 visits (36% of general number; increase by 4,3% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 48 466 visits (15% of general number, decrease by -16% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other - 158 324 visits (49% of general number increase by - 13% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in January, 2016 was paid again from Armenia (-12,4%),Turkey (-5,6%), Azerbaijan (+16%), Russia (+10,2%) and Ukraine (+8,6%). Also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in January the following countries traditionally take the leading position: France, Italy, Great Britain, Poland and Germany (relevantly - 29%, 26%, 16%, 15% and 14%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (15%), among the countries of Easter Europe – Belarus (21%), Middle East – Israel – (14%), UAE (-706%). Also, the number of tourists form the United States of America has also increased by 7%.
