The Informational Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in April, 2015 amounted to 394 634, which has increase by – 0,4% than the index of the same period in 2014.
As for the January-April period, 1 381 000 visits have been registered, which is less by 1,6% in comparison with the same period of 2014.
According to the adopted conditional division the correlation of specific number is the following:
A) Tourist -491 378 visits (35,6 %, of overall number; less by -6 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
B) Transit –298 539 visits (21,6% of overall number, increase by 11 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
C) Other -591 083 visits (42,8 % of overall number; decrease by 3% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in April, 2015 was paid again from Turkey (-1,7%), Azerbaijan (+8%), Armenia (-1,3%), Russia (-0,7%) and Ukraine (-17%). Positive tendency is also preserved with regard to EU countries; in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-April the following countries took the leading position traditionally: Lithuania and Germany, Great Britain (67%, 42% და 14% respectively) Central Asian countries –Uzbekistan (101%) and Kazakhstan (29%), among the countries of Eastern Europe: citizens of Belarus with +37% and +28%. Herewith it should be pointed out that among countries of the central Asia United Arab Emirates is leading according to the number of visitors having crossed Georgian state border by 540%.
