The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
In April 2017 510 594 visitors arrived to Georgia which is more by 10.2% than the index of the same period in 2016.
In January-April period the number of visitors amounted to 1 776 719, which is more by 11,1% than the index of the same period in 2016, as for the number of tourists it has amounted to 736 265 visits which is more by 26.9% than the index of the same period in 2016
According to the new method of a conditional division the number of visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia in April 2017 is the following:
a) Tourist – 222 622 (43.6%, of general number; increase by 29.7% in comparison with the index of the same period in 2016);
b) Transit –107 865 visits (21,1% of general number, in comparison with the index of the last year the number increased by 0,3%);
c) Other – 180 107 visits (35,3% of general number, increase by -2,1% in comparison with the index of the last year).
The most of the visits in April 2017, were paid again from Armenia (+13.2%), Azerbaijan (+7.1%), Turkey (-19.2), Russia (+16.5%), Ukraine (+27.2%) and Iran (+183.9%); Positive tendencies are also retained by the EU states in January-April. The following countries took leading position: Germany Poland, France, Great Britain, Lithuania and Bulgaria (43%, 30%, 30%, 26%, 25% and 22%). Near Esat-Israel (67%) Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (18%), Uzbekistan (190%) Turkmenistan (113%). In East European countries Belarus is leading with 28% and Moldova with 7%. Herewith, the number of visitors from the United states has reached 17%.
