The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has awarded the representatives of the Special Tasks Department of MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center, the Head of Operative Unit of the Operational Planning and Management Division - Mr. Paata Chopikashvili and the employee of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Special Tasks Division - Mr. Manuchar Injgia with “Medals for Bravery” for their outstanding professional liability, courageous actions and dedication shown during the flood in the Vere River Valley in Tbilisi on 13th of June, 2015.
During the days of disaster, society witnessed hundreds of human, civil and professional stories of heroism. The devotion of Manuchar Injgia and Paata Chopikashvili, who saved the lives of many people under the huge risk, should be mentioned among them. The victims and damage caused by the disaster would be more significant if not their high professionalism and special civil consciousness.
