The Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the request of the Traffic Department, restricts the movement of vehicles and trucks on specific road sections of the country. In addition, in order to protect road safety, patrol police crews regulate the movement of vehicles both in Tbilisi and throughout the country.
Due to heavy snow and ice-slick the movement is prohibited:
• for trailers and semi-trailers on the 138th-158th km (Chumateleti-Khunevi) section of the international road of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze (border of the Russian Federation);
• For trailers and semi-trailers on the 65th km-98th section of the international importance road of Ponichala-Marneuli-Guguti (border of the Republic of Armenia);
• For trailers and semi-trailers on international importance road leading to Tbilisi;
• For trailers and semi-trailers on Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestaponi road of national importance;
• For trailers and semi-trailers on the 1st-52nd km section of Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestaponi highway of national importance.
• On Mleta-Kobi section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars (border of the Russian Federation) highway of international importance - due to heavy snow and low temperature - the level of avalanche danger is high, therefore, the movement of all type of vehicles is prohibited on this section.
• Due to low visibility, on the 1st -62nd km section of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi highway of national importance, only the movement of off-road traffic (vehicles with two or more leading bridges) is allowed, the movement of other type of traffic is prohibited.
