The officers of Patrol Police Department of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Main Division, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained 11 members of a criminal group: Zurab G. (DoB 1958), Irakli Ts. (DoB 1975), Giorgi T. (DoB 1979), Lasha D. (DoB 1975), Vasil L. (DoB 1987), Solomon L. (DoB 1959), Zaza P. (DoB 1991), Giorgi T. (DoB 1988), Khvicha S. (DoB 1967), Mamuka M. (DoB 1976) and Gela G (DoB 1958) for illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms, explosives and ammunition previously negotiated by a group.
Patrol Police officers also exposed 9 persons: Nana S (DoB 1985), Lika R (DoB 1989), Tamta K (DoB 1989), Mzia M (DoB 1978), Ramiko M (DoB 1948), Eliso J (DoB 1969), Zurab Kh (DoB 1962) Vladimer N (DoB 1976) and Tamaz Ch (DoB 1966) to illegal selling of firearms, explosives and ammunition.
Patrol Police officers stopped a car on Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway 22nd km for violation of traffic rules in the vicinities of Mtskheta. The check of the car revealed that the driver Zurab G (DoB 1958) and the passanger – Irakli Ts. (DoB 1975) were illegally carrying “Gloc 17” type firearms and 20 bullets under the passenger’s seat. Zurab G. and Irakli Ts. were detained on the site of the incident.
After the detention of the abovementioned persons, investigation established, that the accused persons: Khvicha S, Giorgi T. and Mamuka M. previously negotiated to purchase and illegally carry and sell “Gloc 19” and “Gloc 17” type firearms and ammunition in Gori and occupied Tskhinvali region. Other detainees and exposed persons helped them to implement the abovementioned previously elaborated plan. The members of the criminal group for a certain amount of money registered the purchased firearms on the exposed persons and sold the firearms in Gori and the territory of the occupied Tskhinvali region.
During the investigation, the law enforcers seized “A-KA-S” type automatic weapon and 82 bullets as a result of searching activities carried out at Gela G.’s House in Sagarejo.
The investigation also established, that the members of the criminal group since June 2014 until today have carried and illegally sold up to 20 “Gloc 17” model firearms in Gori and on the territory of the occupied Tskhinvali region.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping, carrying and selling of firearms and ammunition, article 236, I, III and IV parts subparagraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
