Based on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and in accordance with the respective decision of the Government of Georgia, the deadlines for paying fines and additional penalties imposed in connection with traffic movement violations will be postponed.
Citizens will be obliged to pay fines imposed during the state of emergency or before, after the period of the state of emergency will be completed.
The relief period defined by the Georgian Government refers to the issued fines and penalty fines imposed for failing to cover the fine within the stipulated period.
In addition, the process of submission of the unpaid fines to the National Bureau of Enforcement is suspended for a certain period of time; the driver licenses of individuals will not be deactivated. Herewith, the Ministry would like to underline that Patrol Police continues to operate in a round-the-clock regime for ensuring public order, thus, in case of violating rules of traffic movement the respective fines will be imposed by the law enforcers, defined by the acting legislation.
The mentioned change only applies to payment dates.
It is also important that citizens will not be fined for failing to undergo technical inspection of the vehicles during the state of emergency.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to inform citizens that following the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), in order to prevent the spreading of the new coronavirus disease, the branches of the Unified Service Center have been temporarily switched to the distance work schedule, enabling citizens to receive up to 50 services by reaching them on the following number: 241 42 42 and through the police.ge website.
