Field operations center in Kakheti continues operation. Members of the center viewed the fire pockets in the forest located near to Artana village from a helicopter.
Along with firefighters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, up to 400 employees of Special Tasks Department are also involved in fire-liquidation operation. Fire extinguishing works are split in two directions: alpine zone and forest area. Due to the difficult relief, firefighters are using alternative fire extinguishing equipment. Three helicopters are involved in the ongoing operation.
Fire-extinguishing activities are also in progress in Mta-Tusheti, in the forest located near to Khakhabo village. Despite the difficult relief, water reservoirs have been installed at the spot to deal with the fire pockets. MIA firefighters and employees of the National Forestry Agency are operating at the pace as well as the helicopter.
In the village of Shilda, Kvareli region, firefighters continue to carry out fire preventive activities. Live force will stay at the place till the fire is fully extinguished.
