The officers of Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained E.A.(DoB1992) as a result of immediate operative-search and investigative activities carried out in Marneuli Municipality and the attempted murder.
The detainee is accused of premeditated murder of two or more family members committed under aggravating circumstances and attempted murder of two or more family members committed under aggravating circumstances.
The committed crime envisages from 16 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
The investigation established that in Marneuli Municipality, on July 21 of the current year the detainee murdered his former spouse- G.P. (DoB 1994) and her father – I.P. (DoB 1969) with a firearm in their own house on the grounds of the conflict that existed in the past between the parties. The detainee also attempted to murder G.P.’s mother who was also at the scene – S.A. (DoB 1974) and her brother – A.P. (DoB 1996). After the incident the detainee fled from the pace of crime. S.A. and A.P. were transferred to the hospital where the victims were provided with relevant medical aid. At this moment their lives are not in danger.
Law enforcers arrested the accused person as a result of immediate police activities, few hours after the incident. Police seized the weapon of crime- as evidence.
Investigation on the fact of premeditated murder of two or more family members and attempted murder of two or more family members committed under aggravating circumstances is in progress under articles 11(1)-109, II part, sub-paragraph “F” and part III, sub-paragraph “A”, 11-109, II part, sub-paragraph “F” and part III, sub-paragraph “A” envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
