The equipment will be installed at border checkpoints, in particular at international airports, and will monitor the flow of both incoming and outgoing passengers, which will ensure a high standard of security. The delegation also got acquainted with the specifics of the work of the Public Safety Management Center "112", including the operation of the face recognition system.
The equipment was purchased within the framework of the project "EU4 Security, Accountability and Fight against Crime in Georgia (SAFE) - Integrated Border Management (SAFE IBM)" implemented by the International Organization for Migration.
The project has been implemented in close cooperation with the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2019 and its goal is to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Georgia in the field of border and migration management, in accordance with the Visa Liberalization Action Plan signed between the EU and Georgia.
