The employees of Old Tbilisi Police Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational-search measures and investigative activities, detained I.D. (DoB 1980) near “Sadakhlo” checkpoint on charges of inflicting serious health injuries on purpose and illegal purchase-storage-carrying of firearm, when he was trying to leave the country.
The committed crime envisions from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused person shot and wounded L.M. a police officer and fled from the scene of the accident. The wounded policeman was not on duty at the time of the accident, he was with his friends on Tabidze Street in Tbilisi.
L.M. is currently placed in a medical facility, where he is receiving appropriate medical care, his life and health are not in danger.
The investigation into the facts of causing a health damage on purpose and illegal purchase-storage-carrying of firearms is being conducted under Articles 117 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
