The officers of the Division for Fight against Illegal Circulation of Drugs of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, along with the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, as a result of jointly held activities, detained at Sarpi state border crossing point the citizen of Azerbaijan- I.J. (DoB 1995) for illegal purchase-keeping and import of drugs to the territory of Georgia.
The committed crime envisages from 8 to 20 years of imprisonment.
During the personal search of the detainee, law enforcers seized 1702 pills and two pieces of “MDMA” drug, 490 capsules of psychotropic drug “Lirika” (containing “Pregabalin”) 72 gr. of amphetamine and 237 gr. of dried marijuana as evidence.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase-keeping and import of drugs to the territory of Georgia, article 26 VI part, sub-paragraph “A”, article 262, IV part, sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
