The officers of the Juvenile Affairs Main Division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-investigative activities detained juvenile’s stepfather –A.S. (DoB 1993) and mother - M.D.(DoB 1993) in Tbilisi for torture committed in group against a juvenile.
The committed crime envisages from 9 to 15 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that M.D. and her spouse - A.S. tortured under-aged V.D. (DoB 2014) as a method of punishment, causing severe pain, owning to its intensity and duration.
A.S. And M.D. were detained in Tbilisi as a result of operative-search and investigative activities. Relevant examinations are scheduled to be held as well as relevant investigative and procedural activities within the frames of the ongoing investigation.
The juvenile, along with his younger brother have been taken to a safe place by the social worker.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of torture committed in group against a juvenile, article 11 (1)-1441 , part II, sub –paragraphs “E” and “G” envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
