As a result of investigative activities and operational measures, the employees of the main division of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained the citizen of Ukraine, I.B. (DoB 1988) in Tbilisi. The mentioned person is accused of illegal purchase and possession of drugs in especially large quantities and the attempted selling as well as illegal purchase and storage of psychotropic substance in especially large quantities.
The committed crime envisions from 14 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
As a result of complex operative and investigative measures, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs identified an organized group of drug dealers operating through one of the internet applications and the courier of the of the mentioned group - I.B., a foreign citizen temporarily living in Georgia.
Law enforcement officers, during the personal search of the accused person, seized 14 packages of various types of narcotics prepared for sale, including "cocaine" and the psychotropic substance "ketamine". As part of the investigative experiment, 1 package of narcotic drug "cocaine" placed for further sale was also removed from the location indicated by the detainee.
As a result of the search of the house of the accused person, the police seized as evidence: 385 grams of narcotic powder, containing "cocaine", 443 grams of psychotropic substance "ketamine" powder, 3 kg and 152 grams of narcotic drug "MDMA” and powder containing "4-CMC", various pills containing a particularly large amount of narcotic drug "MDMA" - the so-called “Ecstasy”, with a total weight of 876 grams. Police also seized an electric scale and materials needed for narcotics.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, storage and the attempted selling of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities, illegal purchase and storage of a particularly large amount of psychotropic substances under Article 260, Part VI, Subparagraph "A", Article 19-260, part VII, sub-paragraph “A” and article 261, part VI sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
