The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in accordance with the decision of the Interagency Coordination Council of the Government of Georgia, continues to monitor the implementation of the rules and recommendations imposed against the spread of Covid -19 across the country.
The officers of Samtredia Police Division of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department fined a member of the local government, resident in Samtredia Municipality – M.B (DoB 1973) for violating the isolation and quarantine rules.
As a result of testing conducted on November 29, 2020, M.B. was diagnosed with Covid-19, which led to the recommendation of self-isolation from the side of specialists. Since the mentioned date M.B. was included in the list of Covid-infected citizens. The infected citizen violated the established rules, left the place of self-isolation on his own decision and went from Samtredia to the direction of Kutaisi by his vehicle.
Law enforcers fined M.B. with 2000 GEL for the crime envisaged under Article 4210 of the Code of Administrative Offenses when he was moving in vicinity of the village of Ianeti, Samtredia Municipality by his vehicle.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on citizens to demonstrate high public responsibility and comply with the mentioned regulations.
