The Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 3 people for truck robberies in Poti and exposed 3 minors in Kutaisi for committing the same crime.
The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department, as a result of operative and investigative activities, charged 3 persons with theft: Z.Ch. (DoB 2000), D.Ch. (DoB 2000) and D.G. (DoB 2001) and arrested in Poti.
The investigation revealed that on January 31 of the current year, the accused persons robbed the cars parked on different streets in Poti and fled the crime scene.
Law enforcement officers arrested all three of them as a result of immediate police activities.
As for the exposed persons, the officers of Kutaisi City Division of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department, as a result of operative-investigative activities, exposed 3 juveniles - G.M. (DoB2007), L.M. (DoB 2007) and S.M. (DoB 2008).
The investigation established that the juveniles robbed 5 vehicles on Kharebava Street in Kutaisi on January 29 of the current year and fled the scene.
Law enforcers exposed all three juveniles the day after the incident. Police seized some of the stolen items as evidence. Exposed juveniles have already pleaded guilty.
The committed crime envisions from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
Investigation into the events in Poti is underway under Article 177, Part III, Subparagraphs “A” and “D” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates theft committed by a group by prior agreement, while the investigation into the events in Kutaisi is underway under Article 177, part III, sub-paragraph “D” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
