The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the operative search measures and investigative activities, seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Adjara and Shida Kartli and arrested 2 persons, and exposed one.
Employees of Khelvachauri Police Division of Adjara Police Department detained previously convicted N.T. (DoB1991) for manufacturing, purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition.
As a result of the search conducted in the house of the accused person in Batumi, the law enforcement officers seized different types of firearms and ammunition as evidence as well as tools modified by N.T.
The committed crime envisions up to 9 years of imprisonment.
J.G. (DoB 1970), arrested by the detectives division of Shida Kartli Police Department, is accused of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition, as well as illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs.
As a result of the search conducted in the residential house of J.G. in Kareli municipality, the law enforcement officers seized Kalashnikov automatic firearm, 4 magazines and 215 cartridges as evidence. During the search, a large amount of dried marijuana and 49 cannabis plants were also seized.
The employees of Khashuri district division of the same department exposed V.M. (DoB 1950) on the fact of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition. As a result of the search of V.M.'s residential house, Makarov pistol and 16 cartridges were recovered as evidence.
