With the aim to ensure the enforcement of significantly tough measures imposed within the frames of the state of emergency by the Georgian Government, officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to operate in a round-the-clock regime to enforce strict quarantine restriction all across the country.
Due to high epidemiological risk, police checkpoints were arranged at the entrances of Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Zugdidi, Poti and Gori to control the health of citizens and monitor their movement.
The officers of the relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Defense Forces, ensure the enforcement of the imposed strict regulations at the city administrative borders where movement of the citizens is controlled.
Citizens also undergo thermal screening at the police checkpoints.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will provide locals with comprehensive information regarding quarantine restrictions and provide assistance in case if needed.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to inform citizens that all persons on the territory of Georgia must follow requirements of the Georgian legislation on public health and respect decisions of Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC).
The breach of emergency regime will result in administrative responsibility - physical persons will be fined with 3000 GEL, while legal entities will be obliged to pay fine in the amount of 15 000 GEL. In case of the repeated violation of emergency regime regulations, the violator will be brought to criminal justice and face up to three years of imprisonment.
