Mr. Ivane Papiashvili, the Acting Rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Mr. Omar Tushurashvili, the Director of the Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs attended the event dedicated to the anniversary of the First Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia - Noe Ramishvili in the village Didi Vani in Chokhatauri region and paid homage to his memory.
By the initiative and organization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, within the frames of the event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Independence of Georgia, the anniversary of the First Minister of Internal Affairs Noe Ramishvili was celebrated in the village Didi Vani, Chokhatauri region for the first time. The public meeting was held in the school yard where he studied.
The event was attended by the descendants of Noe Ramishvili, historians, representatives of local government, population and pupils.
In his speech, the Director of the Archives of Internal Affairs Mr. Omar Tushurashvili, the descendants of Noe Ramishvili, the teachers of local school and historian spoke about the contribution of the First Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia in construction of independent state in 1918-1921 and his struggle for restoration of the independence of a country after Georgia became the part of the Soviet Union.
Information banners, copies of historical documents and photos prepared based on the documents kept in the archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia were presented at the event, which were later handed over to the school of a village and Chokhatauri Local Museum. The museum of Ramishvili will be opened in the village Didi Vani in the nearest future.
At the end of the event, the documentary film prepared by the Archives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs "The First Republic" was showed in the school yard.
By the initiative of the descendants of Noe Ramishvili annual scholarship of Noe Ramishvili will be instituted at the school of the village Didi Vani.
It should be noted that last year, in the village Didi Vani near the ruins of the house of Noe Ramishvili, his grandson Michel Ramishvili bought a yard and built a house.
