The Parliament of Georgia ratified “The Agreement between Georgia and the Kingdom of Belgium on Law Enforcement Cooperation".
The document envisages the deepening of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and the Kingdom of Belgium in various directions.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze presented the agreement to the PM-s for the ratification at the plenary session of Parliament.
The agreement provides for the cooperation in the areas of combating such important crimes, as: organized crime, terrorism, criminal offenses against a person's life, health and body, drugs related crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children, money laundering, corruption, cybercrime and other.
“The Agreement between Georgia and the Kingdom of Belgium on Law Enforcement Cooperation" was signed on 2nd of May 2024, in Brussels.
The agreement shall enter into force after the completion of the necessary domestic legislative procedures by the both contracting parties.
It should be noted that Georgia has already signed similar types of agreements and memoranda with 35 countries.
