On the occasion of Border Guard Day, the head of the MIA Border Police of Georgia Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze together with the head of the Land Border Protection Department, Colonel Gocha Janjghava have visited Border Sector "Lekiskure".
Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze has congratulated border guard community on their professional day and thanked them for their service.
The head of the MIA Border Police of Georgia emphasized the importance of enhancing Border Police capabilities.
"Boosting Border Police capabilities is one of the top priorities for the Minister of Internal Affairs. During 2020, considerable efforts have been made: Border Police’s infrastructure has been improved; border surveillance systems have been updated; aviation capabilities have been modernized and cooperation with North Atlantic Alliance reached another level. From the accomplished projects, one of the important highlights is construction of 4 new Border Sectors with the support of US Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Border Sector "Lekiskure" is one of them. We are striving for boosting GBP capabilities and improving working conditions of our personnel", - stated Nikoloz Sharadze.
The head of MIA Border Police of Georgia awarded border guards for their distinguished service and professional achievements. 5 of them have been awarded with badge of the MIA for "Impeccable Service".
