Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted the delegation from the Republic of Moldova and met with leadership of Patrol Police and Central Criminal Police Departments. The visit was organized in the framework of UNODC Global Container Control Programme (CCP). Within the frames of the mentioned programme the working group has already been established in Poti which are: Patrol Police and Criminal Police Department representatives as well as employees of the Ministry of Finances of Georgia. The mentioned group conducts inspection of containers on the presence of drugs at the port of Poti.
The purpose of the visit is to hold consultations between Moldova’s delegation and representatives from the Georgian law enforcement agencies responsible for CCP to promote regional cooperation. The republic of Moldova is a participant of CCP and is in the process of establishing Control Unit/Task force in Giurgiulesti port.
