The employees of Dedoplistskaro police division of Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative measures and investigative actions arrested 4 persons for illegal restriction of freedom and money extortion.
M.B. (DoB 2003), G.M. (DoB 2001), M.S. (DoB 1989) and T.L. (DoB 1994), who is under probation, were detained on charges of illegal restriction of freedom and money extortion committed by a group with the use of violence by prior agreement.
The committed crime envisions from 4 to 10 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the defendants, in order to receive financial benefits, tricked G.C. (DOB 1972) out of his residential place, physically abused him and restricted his freedom under the threats of killing.
Law enforcement officers, as a result of immediate investigative actions, arrested the perpetrators of the crime shortly after the incident.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 143, Part III, Sub-paragraphs "A" and "E" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, as well as Article 181, Part II, Sub-paragraph "A".
