The officers of Chiatura District Division of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative-search and investigative activities detained 4 individuals on the fact of robbery committed in group.
The detainees are: previously convicted I.S. (DoB: 1979), T.S. (DoB: 1964), as well as two persons with previous convictions and currently on probation - G.J. (DoB: 1982) and A.Ts. (DoB: 1958).
The crime committed by them envisages from 6 to 12 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that on July 26 of the current year, the accused persons robbed the house of R.M. (DoB: 1946) residing in the village of Khalifauri, Chiatura Municipality. Under the pressure of the firearms they stole R.M.'s money and gold jewelry. After the incident the offenders fled from the crime scene.
As a result of search and investigation activities, the law enforcers detained in Tbilisi one member of the criminal group, namely I.S. He was arrested in Tbilisi. Later, the police detained the accused persons - T.S., G.J. and A.Ts. on the basis of a judge's ruling.
Law enforcers seized stolen gold jewelry as evidence.
Investigation is in progress under the sub-clause “b” of the part 2 of the Article 179 and sub-clauses “a” and “b”, part 3 of the same article of the Criminal Code of Georgia (illegal entry into the premises in group committed repeatedly).
