Field operations center continues to operate in Borjomi gorge. The center is headed by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Mgebrishvili.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili held a meeting in the center which was attended by the members of the government and heads of various MIA units.
Meeting attendees got familiarized with the fire liquidation works held in Borjomi gorge throughout the night.
Fire in Borjomi gorge has been liquidated. At this moment particular fire pockets are being handled.
Fire-fighting brigades had been operating in the gorge during the night time period as well as MIA Special Tasks Department forces, National Forestry Agency and military servicemen of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. Aviation is also mobilized, which will immediately get involved in the operation if necessary.
Field operations center will continue operation till the fire pockets are completely extinguished. MIA fire-fighters will conduct round-the-clock monitoring in the giver forest area.
