Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted the citizens in the imitated city “It is My City” organized within the frames of the road safety campaign for the event of the Independence Day of Georgia on May 26 in Tbilisi, in the Rose Square.
Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs personally visited the imitated city arranged in the Rose Square; he congratulated the population of Georgia on the Independence Day and guided the visitors in touring around the entertainment centers and exhibitions created by different subunits of the agency.
"I congratulate all of you on this day, the people living in Georgia – Georgians, non-Georgians, everyone who cares for our country. Today is a very important day. This is the day that brings together all the stages of our history. This day is always accompanied by two emotions - joy and pain: joy – for achievement of the independence and pain – for the loss of those who sacrificed their lives for the independence of Georgia.
We are always facing challenges, but have not stopped our way to development. I promise you that I will do everything so that our future generations to live in a secure and united Georgia. This small city is also arranged for our future generations, our children”, - said Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili.
In addition to the technique, arms and equipment exhibited by different structures of the Ministry, children and adults discovered many surprises for them in the imitated city:
The employees of the Service Agency of the MIA organized cheerful theoretical and practical tests for the children aged 5-12 for obtaining the right to drive a bicycle; the
sports club of the Service Agency "MIA Force" with the face of the road safety campaign of the MIA, European champion Mr. Davit Kajaia demonstrated sports cars.
Security Police Department of the MIA offered a lot of interesting puzzles, competition and contests to the children in the secure house in the “Street #125” in the safe city.
The "112" demonstrated the “Spaceship”, where the children participated in the computer games specially designed for them with the modern technologies.
The Archive of the MIA screened up to 20 short-length historical films shot on the basis of the archive materials in the open air cinema in the territory of the safe city.
The children had the opportunity to participate in the contest organized by the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the MIA on climbing the ladders and rescuing helpless animals.
The borders of the imitated city were protected by the border guards and the service dogs while the police officers patrolled in the territory and took care of the safety of visitors.
