Members of the Georgian Parliament visited MIA Joint Operations Center. Members of the legal committee of the Parliament were hosted by the Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili and showed them around the Joint Operations Center.
“Joint Operations Center is a centralized hub of MIA. Similar high-tech Center is operational in only few countries of the world. As you know car accidents are one of the main challenges of the world. Joint Operations Center is the approbated and the latest approach to prevent car accidents, reveal violations of the traffic rules and foil the on times. The Center also contributes to efficiency of police activities, responding on the crime operatively and increases efficiency of investigation”-stated Giorgi Mgebrishvili.
Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs acquainted guests with the reasons of creating the Center, its aim, functions and future plans. As it was stated at the meeting, Joint Operations Center is currently working on several projects, including one of the large-scale projects-“Safe City, Safe Region, Safe Country” which envisages creation of video monitoring system across the country and the use of modern technologies in police activities.
The parliament members also got acquainted with the innovative and technological innovations introduced in the direction of traffic safety, enabling operative responses to traffic regulation, road accident prevention and violations of traffic rules.
At the end of the meeting parliament members were awarded with symbolic gifts made within the frames of the traffic safety campaign.
