Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili met with Aleksandr Kelchevskiy head of OSCE monitoring mission.
At the meeting Minister discussed pre-election environment in the country and outlined the readiness of the Ministry to ensure safe and peaceful environment on the election day.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili acquainted head of OSCE monitoring mission with specially issued decree which envisages additional activities of police forces for ensuring safe and peaceful environment on the election day.
During the conversation with Aleksandr Kelchevskiy, Minister reviewed the existing close cooperation with Central Election Commission. “We’ve signed memorandum of understanding with CEC and discussed detailed plans as well as preparatory activities. I would like to mention that relevant MIA units are fully prepared to ensure fair and democratic pre-election period”-stated Minister Mgebrishvili.
