The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austrian Republic to Georgia, Arad Benko. The meeting was also attended by the Austrian Police attache - Karlheinz Gortano.
Giorgi Gakharia expressed his gratitude towards Austrian Police Attache for his contribution to the capacity building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The representatives discussed the possibility of enhancing the already tight cooperation between the law-enforcement bodes of Georgia and Austria. The role of Police Attaches in deepening police cooperation between two countries was also stressed during the meeting.
Giorgi Gakharia and his Austrian guests discussed the effective coordination of Austria and Georgia on the issues related to readmission procedures of illegally residing persons. Mr. Gakharia presented Ministry’s ongoing and planned reforms as well as the priorities to the Ambassador. Finally, the parties outlined the plans for future cooperation.
