As a result of investigative activities and operational measures conducted by the employees of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an employee of Shida Kartli Police Department - I.G. was arrested on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and storage and transportation of a large amount of goods without excise, subject to excise stamping.
The crime envisions up to 8 years of imprisonment.
As a result of the search of the detainee's vehicle, residential place and office, law enforcement officers seized a large amount of excise-free cigarettes, as well as firearms, cartridges, magazines and cash as evidence.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 200, part III and Article 236, part 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
