Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Ioseb Tchelidze along with the Head of Emergency Situations Management Service opened the new and contemporary building of the fire-rescuers Borjomi Division. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Head of Emergency Situations Management Servicet Levan Ghirsiashvili and the Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti region - Beso Amiranashvili.
“Today, new building of Fire-Rescuers under Emergency Situations Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was opened in Borjomi. The new building was constructed and equipped according to the contemporary standards. In addition, four more new buildings are being constructed in the country, one of which will be put into operation in the nearest future. The fire-rescuer’s profession is extremely risky and difficult and therefore, the Service is making its best efforts to support and create necessary work conditions for these people to serve with dignity and accomplish their duties respectively”, - stated the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Ioseb Tchelidze.
New modern fire-rescue building of Borjomi Division under Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will serve Borjomi municipality. It is worth mentioning that for years, there was no fire and rescue building in the town of Borjomi and the local Emergency Situations Management units were allocated in various buildings.
The two-storey building has a special parking space for 4 special vehicles and is provided with a 10-ton backup water system.
In the new building, firefighters and rescuers are provided with contemporary work environment sleep areas, gym, dining hall and study room equipped with the latest computer technic and furniture.
In the new building of Borjomi division under Emergency Situations Management Service, the regional unit of Service Supervision Department will also start operation.
During the opening ceremony, Borjomi division of Emergency Situations Management Service also received new fire-rescue “Magirus” vehicles which will serve Borjomi municipality and Samtskhe-Javakheti region in case of necessity.
