The officers of Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained chairman of Khelvachauri council (Sakrebulo) Malkhaz Pertenadze for bribery in large quantities.
Investigation established that Malkhaz Pertenadze, while fulfilling his duties and by means of misusing his powers promised to the certain citizen to assist in purchasing 10 000 square meters of land area located near to the sea in Gonio in a low price and demanded 1 600 000 GEL in return.
On March 28, 2014 Malkhaz Peretenadze received part of the demanded sum- 50 000 USD and was detained by the law enforcers on the facat of bribery.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribery, article 338, III part, sub-paragraph E. the committed crime envisages from 11 to 15 years of imprisonment.
