The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze met with the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) - Matteo Mecacci, paying official visit to Georgia.
Within the meeting, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze emphasized on the measures and reforms implemented within the Ministry, in order to ensure anti-discriminative policy, as well as to fight effectively gender-based violence. Parties discussed legislative package separating investigative and prosecutorial activities.
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and Matteo Mecacci also talked about cooperation between the Ministry and the Office of Human Rights (ODIHR). The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance and significance of cooperation with OSCE institutions, and expressed readiness to enhance such cooperation in the future.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Austria, Permanent Representative of Georgia to the OSCE and other international organizations based in Vienna - Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, Representative of the Director-General of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) in Vienna, Special Adviser - Peter Mosop, Legal Officer - Karin Simmonsen.
