Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Prosecutor's Office held informational meeting in Khelvachauri on the occasion of the International Day of Fight against Human Trafficking.
At the meeting the law enforcers provided the civilians with detailed information about trafficking threats and the measures taken by the government and answered their questions. The meeting participants were given the leaflets published in Georgian, English, Russian and Turkish languages with the support of the EU delegation in Georgia.
In 2013 the United Nations General Assembly declared 30th July the World Day against Trafficking in Persons. Georgia, like other European countries, marks this day with the symbolic events, underlining the importance of the problem of trafficking and the priority of this issue for the government. For its part, the Ministry of Internal Affairs actively continues successful combat this crime in active cooperation with the partner countries and organizations.
