Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomeluri opened new building in Bakuriani. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs and Director of Samtskhe-Javakheti Police Department.
Construction of the Bakuriani police station was carried out as part of a police infrastructure renovation project. The building is well furnished and fully accommodated in accordance with modern standards.
The new building of the Bakuriani Police will have more than 50 patrol and criminal police officers. The building has a work space for detectives and investigators, interrogation, identification and space for storing evidences, as well as conference hall. The facility is fully adapted for people with special needs.
The Bakuriani Police Department also provides modern-day isolator of the Shida Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Department of Temporary Detention Isolator under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
After having seen the building infrastructure, Vakhtang Gomelauri held the work meeting with the heads of the structural units under Samtskhe-Javakheti Police Department.
At the meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs reviewed priority directions and received detailed information on recent situation in the region from the regional police leadership. Vakhtang Gomelauri got familiarized with the activities held for the prevention and fight against crime.
Minister gave respective instructions to the police officers regarding further police activities.
