Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri met with the newly appointed Head of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Sahar Rupert and the Legal Adviser at the US Embassy in Georgia Lara Morton Owens. The meeting was introductory.
The parties discussed achievements and cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. Also, the parties outlined future plans and priority areas.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister expressed his gratitude to the new head of the INL for strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and wished her success.
It is noteworthy that the United States Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) has been cooperating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for many years, in areas such as fight against cybercrime, domestic violence and trafficking, tactical training, juvenile crime prevention, road safety, etc.
