MIA Academy hosted regional Project management two-day seminar conducted in the framework of EU Initiative “Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Risk Mitigation Centers of Excellence. The seminar was led by EU experts and it brought together the employees of Emergency Situations Management Agency, Expert-forensic main Division and Reforms and Development agency. Representatives of relevant agencies from Moldova, Ukraine and Armenia also participated in the seminar.
The seminar aimed at developing skills of the personnel involved in the current and future project implementation and monitoring. It’s worth noting, that number of EU funded important projects are being implemented in CBRN field. One of them - Project 44 has started in 2015 and is aimed at strengthening CBRN first response capabilities and regional cooperation in Georgia, Armenia and Moldova.
The overall objective of the project is to enhance response capabilities and promote inter-Agency and regional cooperation in CBRN first response. In the scope of the project results to be achieve are: to provide response agencies with relevant equipment, to conduct relevant trainings and training activities (as well as table-top exercises), to improve normative base in response field and share international experience. In the nearest future project implementation phase is to start. Regional seminar is aimed at successful implementation of the abovementioned phase.
