Within the frames of cooperation between MIA and civil sector the meeting with the representatives of NGOs, working on women’s rights and domestic violence issues was held in the administrative building of MIA. The meeting was held in the discussion format.
Deputy Minister Levan Izoria announced the progress made by the Ministry in order to raise efficiency of combating domestic violence and presented information about the implemented and planned projects for raising public awareness. At the meeting, deputy Minister of MIA, confirmed once again that the fight against domestic violence is one of the top priorities of MIA and its effective implementation requires active and adequate involvement of Civil Sector.
Public Relations Department of MIA presented information about the implemented and planned projects for raising public awareness. The Information-Analytical Department introduced methodology on conducting statistics. Results about ongoing, implemented projects and trainings for law enforcers, within the frames of cooperation with International and Non-governmental Organizations, was also provided.
