The rescuers of Emergency Situations management Agency along with pilots of the Border Police as a result of the successfully conducted rescue operation saved two citizens from drowning in the waved of the river.
Emergency Response Center 112 received notification that two citizens were trapped on a river island, surrounded by the water of Khobistskhali river, located in Samegrelo region and were not able reach the shore.
Rescue crews of Khobi and Chkhorotskhu regions departed to the site immediately. Due to the difficult relief and fast flow of the river, it was necessary to involve the Border Police helicopter in the rescue operation. The helicopter crew successfully underwent a successful rescue operation under the direction of the MIA Border Police pilot, Police Major, Besik Gabiani. Both citizens are currently in safe place.
