Ministry of Internal Affairs joined the cycling event dedicated to the “International Car-Free Day” within the frames of MIA-led social campaign -“For the Sake of You and Your Safety”.
The event was joined by the celebtiry face of MIA Force club and champion of Legends Euro Nations Cup 2012, Data Kajaia as well as MIA employees, representatives of international organizations and citizens.
The event was held in Tbilisi on October 22 and lasted for an hour; beginning from 12:00 to 13:00 pm. Participants of the event started the race from the crossing of Pekini and Mirotadze Streets and continued the route to Vazha-Pshavela Avenue. Cyclists continued the route to the direction of Kazbegi Avenue and finished the race on the crossing of Pekini and Mirotadze Streets.
Marking the International Car-Free Day is aimed to reduce the amount of traffic in the central parts of the capital and to promote heathy lifestyle. Citizens refrain from using their personal cars on this day; they walk or use alternate, ecologically safe transport.
“International Car-Free Day” is marked all over the world, since 2000.
