Head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nino Giorgobiani presented summarising report for the year 2014 to the Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs and heads of Departments of the Ministry. The report was focused on all the events which were planned, organized and dissaminated by the Department; events launched within the frames of implemented reforms of the Ministry. Also report contains detailed information on activities of the Minister of Internal Affairs which where planned, organised and dissaminated by PR Department; international meetings; social and informational campaigns: “Don’t drive when drunk”, “No to bio drugs”, “Fasten the seatbelt”, “No to violence” –contests, awards and exhibitions for journalists, students and citizens regarding above mentioned campaigns. Within the frames of events organised by Public Relations Department were created musical and social video shots, which contributed to informing society about campaigns of the Ministry.
According to the statistic data, by the end of 2014 year consumption of so-called bio drugs has reduced by 90% thanks to the campaign “No to bio drugs” and law on “New Psychoactive Substances”.
In November, 2014 by the initiative of Public Relations Department the Ministry created special voice version of the web page- voice.police.ge for blind or vision impaired citizens. It is notable that Ministry of Internal Affairs is the first agency which created such a innovative website. From 2014 year weekly radio show “In Frames of Law” is on the air where representatives of the Ministry review topical issues for citizens. Within the frames of the annual report it was underlined that Public Relations Department works in round-the-clock regime.
Head of the Public Relations Department of the MIA also presented events planned for 2015 year.
