10 year anniversary since the creation of Patrol Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was marked. The event was attended by the Prime-Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili, members of the Georgian government and diplomatic corps.
Prime Minister addressed guests with a speech. Patrol Police officers were awarded with certificates and special awards by Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze for courage during fulfilling their duties and other merits.
Police Major Vakhtang Varsimashvili was awarded with medal for “courage”. Varsimashsvili arrived to resolve the conflict situation in the family and was wounded with a firearm by the male who acted aggressively against his son and spouse;
Police Captain Viktor Japaridze- awarded with medal for “courage” who saved patients from the fire that spread in one of the clinic’s reanimation ward.
Police Major Giorgi Kopaleishvili-awarded with medal for “courage” who along with his partner, saved sick patients from the fire that spread in one of the clinic’s reanimation ward;
Police Major Kakahaber Tchitadze- awarded with medal for “courage”, who saved civilian from drowning in the “Tbilisi Sea”;
Police Captain Khuza Tchanturia- awarded with medal for “courage”. Tchanturia managed to detain persons for illicit carrying of firearm at the place of crime, who opened fire to patrol officers when they approached the scene.
Police Captain Levan Buishvili- awarded with medal for “courage”, who saved 10 and 12 year old children from the fire that spread in the basement of the living block, owning to which the entrance hall was completely inaccessible because of the smoke;
Police Major Ekaterine Eradze – awarded with medal for “courage” as well as her partner, Police Lieutenant Levan Shengelia. They saved civilians from the burning vehicle which ignited as a result of the car crash;
Police Lieutenant Giorgi Mamuchishvili- awarded with medal for “courage”. Mamuchishvili detained persons accused of illicit carrying of firearms, who opened fire to the direction of policemen, when they arrived at the place. He also detained individuals accused of vehicle theft and illicit purchase and keeping of drugs;
Police Lieutenant Khvicha Navrozashvili-awarded with medal for “courage” who detained persons accused of armed assault and car theft;
Captain Ilia Sulakadze-awarded with certificate of gratitude who saved civilian who jumped into Rioni river in the attempt of the suicide;
Police Senior Lieutenant Natia Marsagishvili –awarded with certificate of gratitude for outstanding performance of official duties;
Police Senior Lieutenant Elene Chachava - awarded with certificate of gratitude for outstanding performance of official duties;
Police Captain Salome Ebanoidze – awarded with certificate of gratitude for outstanding performance of official duties;
Police Senior Lieutenant Maka Oniani- awarded with certificate of gratitude for outstanding performance of official duties;
Director of Patrol Police Department Davit Tsinaridze congratulated colleagues with the anniversary and expressed gratitude for successful performance of duties. Regional Director of "Ford" LLC in Central and Eastern Europe Viktor Molnar also addressed the audience with a speech.
At the event, presentation of new patrol police vehicle “Ford Interceptor” was also held. Vehicles have been constructed specially for the Police, all details and elements for the successful work of the Police have been foreseen. The new special vehicle is equipped with various additional security devices and the system, which is not the case for the other special vehicles used in Georgia today. “Ford Interceptor” is known for its high durability, enhanced safety and motion specificities.
At the end of the event photo and video exhibition depicting activities of Patrol Police was also presented. Guests were familiarized with novelties and changes implemented at Patrol Police Department in the last two years.
