International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presented progress report for the year 2014 to the Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze. The report is focused on important achievements of the Department in three directions: international legal cooperation, Euro-Atlantic cooperation and donor coordination.
Issues included: Visa Liberalization Action Plan (VLAP), Association Agreement and current activities of the Association Agenda, extending the scope of cooperation in NATO’s planning and review process (PARP), coordination of issues under the competence of MIA within the frames of NATO-Georgia substantial package and etc.
In 2014, with regards to international legal cooperation, Ministry of Internal Affairs concluded 11 bilateral integrational agreements in the field of the fight against crime/police cooperation, readmission, Exchange and mutual protection of classified information and Cooperation in the management of emergency situations.
MIA International Relations Department organized the Ministers visit to Great Britain, Germany, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Armenia and Lithuania. High level meetings were held in the United States of America as well.
