The representatives of various spheres of the Interpol General Secretariat paid working visit to the Central National Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The meeting with the employees of the Central National Bureau of Interpol, Patrol Police Department, Information Analytical Department of the State Security Service, Special Operations Department and the Operative-Technical Department, the Customs Department of the LEPL Revenue Service, Nuclear and Radiation Security Department of the Ministry of Environment Protection was held within the frames of the visit in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The meeting participants discussed the special systems installation plan, organized with cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Tbilisi Interpol in Tbilisi International Airport within the frames of the pilot operation “CONDUCT”; the plan aims identification of the internationally wanted individuals among the passengers and detection of explosive substances; on the example of Tbilisi Airport the specifics of working with the biochemical and nuclear terrorism threats were also reviewed and studied.
The parties discussed the future plans including the organization of trainings with support of the Interpol General Secretariat and the issue of deployment and maintenance of the relevant equipment in the border checkpoints.
