In the Base of the Special Tasks First Division of the Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs the memorial was opened in honor of police officers died for unity of Georgia in the course of performing their service duties from 1991 till nowadays.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mindia Lortkipanidze, the Director of the Special Tasks Department, his deputies, representatives of the Veterans Affairs State Service and family members of died police officers. They laid a wreath at the memorial and paid tribute to the memory of those who died. 33 officers were heroically died and 6 officers are missing in the battles for the territorial integrity of Georgia and while performing service duties from this certain military unit.
Fighters fallen for homeland sacrifice and devotion were also honored by the employees of the Third Division and Special Tasks Division of Tbilisi of the Special Tasks Department.
